P. Wes Black

Wes is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law an has been an appellate lawyer for over a decade, serving at a number of large defense firms before entering practice as a plaintiff's lawyer. Wes has briefed and argued cases before both Federal and State appellate courts, including numerous Texas Courts of Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Wes has also represented clients in State and Federal jury trials, in accordance with his belief that significant trial experience is a necessary component of a comprehensive appellate practice.

Wes' practice has provided him with perspective from both sides of the bench. Prior to entering private practice, he served as briefing attorney for Chief Justice Rex Davis of the Tenth Judicial District Court of Appeals. Wes is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Baylor Law School, where he served as an editor of the Baylor Law Review.
