Two attributes defined Mike Yanof’s baseball career, taking him all the way to a Division I college scholarship and starter: versatility and success. He could play any position on the field and succeeded at every level he played.
For over 20 years, these same qualities—versatility and success—have defined him as a lawyer. His versatility has led him to serve clients from the boardroom to the courtroom. He has tried, as a first chair, dozens of cases to jury verdict—including medical and legal malpractice, commercial litigation, and other cases involving catastrophic injuries. He has argued before the highest appellate courts in Texas. He has served as outside general counsel for companies.
And his success? He has never lost a first-chair personal injury jury trial. Clients and lawyers have sought his expertise in arguing significant issues before Texas intermediate courts of appeals, the Fifth Circuit and other federal courts of appeals, and Texas Supreme Court.
Mike has now joined The Lenahan Law Firm to fight for the rights of injured victims. This includes, as trial counsel, handling medical malpractice or other cases involving catastrophic injuries. It also includes, as appellate counsel, assisting lawyers in the trial court and on appeal to best position cases for a judgment that will stand.
When he is not practicing law, Mike can be found devoted to two of his other passions: spending time with family and coaching. He has been married to Cynthia Yanof for many years. They met in law school at Texas Tech. They have three children: Kate, Brett, and newly adopted JB. Cynthia works for a non-profit and heads a brand called Christian Parenting that produces parenting content through a website, blog, and podcasts. He and his family are active in their church, and Mike is a deacon. Mike also coaches baseball and softball. He is the head coach for Trinity Christian Academy’s varsity softball team and coaches a Dallas Mustangs 11U AAA select baseball team.
